How to use the hardware wallet to securely store your cryptocurrencies

In this tutorial you will learn how to use the Ledger Nano S to store your cryptocurrency profits in the most secure way possible.

Step 1:
Connect your Ledger Nano S

Plugin your Ledger Nano S into your computer using the USB cable and follow the instruction on the screen. You can create a new wallet or import an existing Bitcoin or Ethereum wallet. All the steps are displayed on the screen, so simply follow along. You can use the two button on top of the device for selection and navigation.


Step 2:
Choose a pin code

Select and confirm your PIN CODE and make sure to memorize it, as you will have to enter it each time you use your Ledger Nano S. Please note that entering a wrong PIN CODE three times in a row will reset your device.

Step 3:
Backup your recovery phrase

Use your Recovery Sheet to backup your 24-word recovery phrase. This step is crucial as the recovery phrase will allow you to revocer your wallet in case of loss or theft. You will not be able to finish the setup process without completing this step.

Make sure to store your Revcery Sheet in a secure place.

Choose a wallet address and enter the amount in BTC you wish to withdraw from your INVIA World account

Step 4:
Install the Ledger Apps

Your Ledger Nano S has finished the configuration process when you see the mention Your device is ready to use.

The next step is to install the Ledger Apps on your computer in order to be able to use your wallet. Use your Chrome or Chromium 50+ browser to download the Ledger Wallet Bitcoin Chrome App or the Ledger Wallet Ethereum Chrome App.

Go to the Apps Page within your browser to find these applications.

Step 5:
Your Ledger Nano S
is ready to use

Your Ledger Nano S can now be used with your Chrome apps on any computer to send or receive payments. All transactions are verified on the display of the device and have to be validated with the buttons.
